Overview
Learn how to quickly locate specific messages, posts, or files within your entire Sharp Archive using simple keywords and powerful filtering tools.
Prerequisites
- You must be logged in to the Sharp Archive web dashboard.
- You need appropriate permissions to view the archives for the specific channels you are searching.
Steps
Performing a Basic Keyword Search
- Click on the Search icon in the main navigation menu at the top of the dashboard.
- Enter your keywords (e.g., a person’s name, a project code, or specific terminology) into the main search bar.
- Press Enter or click the magnifying glass icon.
Tip: By default, search looks for exact matches. If you are unsure of the exact spelling, try using wildcards like an asterisk (*). For example, searching for
project* will return results for “project”, “projects”, and “projected”.
Refining Results with Filters
After performing an initial search, use the sidebar filters on the left to narrow down the results:
- Date Range: Use the calendar pickers to define a specific start and end date.
- Channels: Select or deselect specific platforms (e.g., Slack, Gmail, Bloomberg) to include or exclude them.
- Users/Senders: Filter messages sent by specific individuals within your organization.
Expected Result
The central pane will display a list of archived messages or files that match your keywords and selected filters. Click on any result to view the full conversation thread or document context.
Troubleshooting
If your search returns no results:
- Ensure you have not applied conflicting filters (e.g., searching for a date range where no data was archived). Try clearing all filters and searching again with broad keywords.
- Verify that the specific channel you are looking for was active and connected during that time period.
